ADNOC Distribution opens Middle East’s largest superfast EV hub on Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway
E11 corridor gains 20-minute charging for long-distance electric travel
ABU DHABI – ADNOC Distribution has launched the largest superfast electric vehicle charging hub in the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye, alongside a nationwide roadmap to electrify the UAE’s highway network by the end of 2027.
The announcement, made ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, places a new high-capacity charging facility at the heart of the country’s busiest inter-city corridor between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
With 60 high-speed chargers capable of replenishing most EV batteries from 0 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes, the site becomes the sixth-largest superfast EV hub in the world.
Strategic site
The new EV Megahub is located at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway, the primary artery linking the UAE’s two largest cities and one of the country’s most heavily used road networks. Designed to handle the demands of long-distance and inter-city travel, the facility brings together fast, reliable charging with a high-throughput layout that allows multiple vehicles to be serviced simultaneously without congestion.

As the largest superfast EV charging site across the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye, the Megahub anchors ADNOC Distribution’s wider plan to make highway EV travel as seamless as conventional fuel journeys. Its scale is intended to remove one of the main barriers to EV adoption on inter-city routes, giving drivers confidence that high-power charging will be available when it is needed most.
Highway roadmap
Under ADNOC Distribution’s national rollout, 20 EV charging hubs will be opened by the end of 2027, with 15 of them scheduled to come online in 2026. These hubs are planned to cover all core UAE national highways, creating a connected, coast-to-coast network that supports uninterrupted electric travel between major population centres, ports and industrial zones.
The initiative aligns with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure’s National Electric Vehicles Policy, which targets battery-electric vehicles accounting for 50 percent of all cars on UAE roads by 2050. The ministry has also set out the Global EV Market initiative to reduce transport energy consumption and accelerate the shift to cleaner mobility through infrastructure, policy and market development.
Speaking at the inauguration, Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, said the E11 hub represents a significant step in delivering that policy, highlighting its location on one of the country’s most vital corridors and its role in providing integrated services for commuters and road users.
E2GO network
ADNOC Distribution is delivering its electrification strategy through E2GO, one of the UAE’s largest charge point operator networks. The company has already installed more than 400 charging points nationwide and is targeting up to 750 by 2028, a scale that positions it to support both urban and long-distance EV demand as adoption rises.

Eng Bader Saeed Al Lamki, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, said the company’s first EV Megahub is designed around the specific needs of inter-city travellers, combining rapid charging with the convenience and reliability that motorists expect from highway service centres. The E11 site is also the first The Hub by ADNOC location dedicated entirely to commuters, extending a concept first introduced in November 2025 with a community focus.
Commuter hub
Covering a footprint three times larger than a traditional service station, The Hub by ADNOC format integrates fuel, EV charging, food and lifestyle services into a single destination. At the E11 Megahub, that concept is tailored for drivers moving between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, offering facilities that allow them to charge, rest and work in one stop.
The site is the first in ADNOC Distribution’s network to include a coworking space, giving customers a comfortable environment to connect and be productive while their vehicles are charging. This commuter-centric approach reflects changing travel patterns as electric mobility grows and charging stops become an integral part of longer journeys rather than brief refuelling pauses.
Beyond the Megahub, ADNOC Distribution operates more than 560 service stations across the UAE, the largest network in the country. This nationwide footprint enables the company to scale EV infrastructure quickly and efficiently, ensuring new chargers can be added in line with demand and national electrification goals.
